the bookishyapping story
hi there!
welcome to my cozy corner of the internet. i’m nilam, the girl behind all these, who really just wants to spend her life reading books and traveling and learning languages.
well, i’m not at that point of my life yet but hopefully, i will, eventually. so, for now, i’m just going to share my journey in reading, traveling, and also share some cool places or cool language facts for those of you interested in coming to indonesia! (because i live here, duh).
i can go on and on about why i started this blog, but let me save you some time and recap the whole thing:
1) books are awesome and by sharing my love for reading, i hope i can inspire you guys to pick up a book or two.
2) i love learning languages (currently speak 3 languages), and as an indonesian, i want to help people all over the world to better understand our language. our government might be disappointing, but our food and music and language are really grand.
3) i would love to travel more and hopefully by writing about my own travels, i will have the opportunity to discover new places and motivate you all to check out the places!
that said, i am a tourist in my own city (and country) still, so this is to also record myself traveling to new places and kind of typing down my thoughts and impressions, because you know, the world is actually amazing if you ignore the capitalism and imperialism part.
not only that, i also feel like a tourist in my own mind, and i’m really trying to be more observant towards my thoughts and feelings when it comes to the world around me, so if you somehow stumble upon this blog, first of all, thank you for the traffic. and second of all, enjoy the ride!
